Craig Allen Plummer

September 26, 1960 – August 25, 2026

Craig Allen Plummer, sometimes known as CAPCO, passed away on August 25, 2026, at home on his beloved ranch in Pageland, South Carolina, with his wife and brother by his side. Born on September 26, 1960, Craig was just one month shy of his 66th birthday.

Craig had previously been cured of Hepatitis C, which he contracted from a blood transfusion. He believed that meant his liver was healthy, but he ultimately passed away from cirrhosis of the liver, which was further complicated by chemotherapy treatments for colon cancer.

Craig was a father, husband, grandfather, brother, friend—and a big-time storyteller!

Born in Texas into a military family, Craig moved frequently throughout his childhood. He had three brothers and one half-sister. One of his brothers lived with Craig and his wife, and although Craig never had the opportunity to meet his half-sister, Debbie, she remained part of his family.

In 1993, Craig began working in real estate in Destin, Florida, for his future wife, Clara Kemper. They fell in love, married, and went on to have three children. After Clara sold her company to Coldwell Banker and took over their resort sales, her career brought the family to Mississippi—just 24 days before Hurricane Katrina. In 2008, the family moved to North Carolina, where they remained in the same school system until their youngest child, Hannah, graduated from high school.

Craig was the best father—or maybe the best buddy—a child could ask for. He was always ready to make breakfast for his kids and all their friends, sometimes feeding groups of more than ten kids at a time. He wanted to teach them all how to fish, shoot, or skin a deer. He loved them all.

After Hannah graduated, Craig found the ranch in Pageland, South Carolina, where he and Clara lived happily for the last ten years.

Outside of his family and friends, Craig’s great loves were fishing, golfing, and hunting. He spent his days hunting for the big buck on his ranch—or on a buddy’s property—fishing the lakes of South and North Carolina, deep-sea fishing in the Gulf, wading the Salmon River in New York, or playing golf. He was a member of White Plains Golf Course and seemed to have a shirt from every golf course imaginable—and a few most of us had never even heard of.

Craig spent his life helping others. No emergency was ever too much for him. He pulled people from burning cars, helped cut people out of overturned vehicles, and once held a woman wrapped in a blanket until she passed away so that she would not have to die alone. He even paid for surgery for a neighbor in need. Helping people was simply part of who Craig was.

Craig had the joy of seeing both of his sons, Charles and Alexander Plummer, marry wonderful women. Alex and Giulia gave Craig his first grandchild, Benjamin, and Craig had the extraordinary honor of cutting his grandson’s umbilical cord when he was born just six months before Craig’s passing. His daughter, Hannah, recently moved back to Destin, Florida, where she began a career in real estate, following a path that had been such an important part of her family’s story. She visited often.

Craig leaves behind his wife, Clara; his children, Charles and his wife, Kortney; Alexander and his wife, Giulia; and his only daughter, Hannah Plummer; and his beloved grandson, Benjamin.

He is also survived by his three brothers, Donald, Randy, and Tim; Tim’s wife, Shannon, and their children, Casey, Jacob, and Lily; as well as his half-sister, Debbie.

Craig lived a life full of stories, adventure, family, friendship, and generosity. He loved deeply, helped without hesitation, and left behind countless stories that will continue to be told by the people lucky enough to have known him.

A Celebration of Craig’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026—Craig’s birthday—at his beloved ranch in Pageland, South Carolina, located at:

Family and friends will also gather at White Plains Golf Course in Pageland for a farewell golf match on Sunday, September 27, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
